Here We Go... Again

I am SOOO on top of this blog. I've debated taking it down, affording my kids some level of privacy as they grow. Then I figured, with the internet, privacy like when we were kids no longer exists. I might as well keep an embarrassing log of photos to torture my kids with at a later date, when Facebook and Instawhatever no longer exist because they have barcodes in their necks and people can scan them with their I-phone200000 and see everything about them. Or something like that. Anyhow, here's an update in photos of what life's been for the last 7ish months. Seriously lacking in details, of course, but at least I'll feel I've accomplished something here. To go a step further, I've tried to organize them. By the time you reach the bottom of the photos, you'll probably be laughing at my organization skills.

Proof I feed my children. Because if there's food around, they'll eat it.

No question. He's related to Granddaddy.

Paint. Snow. Drop cloth. We're covered. (Sophie, literally)

Imitating Granddaddy.

RUN!
(Running in the house is a regular occurrence, thanks to our awesome hallway, perfect for running laps and playing Ball Down the Hall)

Hi, Mom!

LOOK - they're both smiling!!!!

Getting into Mom's hats and purse.

Punk rock princess.

This is about 30 seconds before she puked ALL over the mudroom. It was a great 30 seconds of smiling.

Sophie in a box.

This is what happens when I say, "let's send Aunt Sally a photo!"

Sophie's hair sans curls is insanely long.

My big boy helper.

Sophie's hat. Because it deserves its own picture.

Montshire visit... this is one of the more recent (like this week!) photos. Despite all the cool stuff, my kids love to blow air on each other.

Yes, there is a peacock in our backyard. Yes, it was there all day. Yes, I called the Humane Society (we lack an animal control), was informed this is perfectly acceptable and that someone in the neighborhood has it as a pet. All I can say is... what the f***, Vermont?

We read 'Steam Train, Dream Train' on a fairly regular basis. And every single time, without fail, Dylan informs me he wants the crane shown in one of the pictures. The last time this happened, I threw the book across the room and yelled at him that he should be happy with what he has and the point of books is NOT to focus on the toy in the picture, but to listen to the story. It was one of my prouder parenting moments... Anyway, a couple days later, I decided that since there's no way I'm spending $50+ dollars on a toy, I made him a crane.

The kids like to wrestle. Or as Dylan says, rassle.

Big girl bed! tee hee!

"Mom, swimming really wore me out."

Playing t-ball with his best friend!
Sophie in a box. Again. (Although chronologically, I think this photo was first...I said I tried to organize. Let's chalk that up to a complete failure.)

Catching Up... Vol 4: F'ing Snow

This is what we returned to VT for after our nice warm trip to Tucson. Luckily, it's been a relatively mild winter as far as snow goes, despite some insanely cold days.

Catching Up... Vol 3: ONE?!?!?!?!

To my adventurous one year old: you're nuts and I love you always. Happy birthday my Peanut. I have no idea where the year went. You are far more daring than your brother ever was. You idolize him and the two of you are awesome to watch interact. I hope this next year is just as much fun, albeit with a little more sleep, than the last.

Catching Up... Vol 2: Tucson

It feels like a lifetime ago, and not just about a month ago, when we got back. Finally, some pictures to remind (prove) that it happened.
No trip to Tucson is complete without at least one trip to the zoo.

Or without stealing Daddy's sunglasses at least once.
(Note: Sophie is wearing a barrette. She was really good to keep one in when we were in Tucson. Since we've come home? Nope, she wants her hair in her eyes)

Thanksgiving with Mom's family is never complete without some lego playing with cousins. D and Megs had a LOT of fun together.

How many people can just walk up to Granddaddy and climb up on his lap and NOT be kicked off?

At the zoo again, for Zoo lights. And Dylan's first experience with hot chocolate. I think he fell in love that night.

Catching Up... Vol 1: D Turns 3

Cake making with Mom.

Finally, a picture with all of the Usual Suspects smiling.

Happy Birthday, dearest Dylan. You are the most amazing 3-year-old I know. I love you forever.

Need an Airplane?

My only contribution to this drawing was running to get the camera, hoping he didn't erase it in the meantime, and snapping the photo. He drew this all himself. Holy fudge.

Halloween

Pardon the blurriness of the photos. I was trying to take them as the Usual Suspects were all over the place, along with the moms and Lucia's Oma trying to get photos, and Jeremy trying to help wrangle kids. All as we were seconds away from leaving.

This was the best Sophie shot I could get... she kept wanting to turn around, so I wasn't even able to get a shot of her turtle back. Luckily it's still in the car. After trick-or-treating two houses in our neighborhood with Lu and Pipes we hit up Pomper Drew's, a friend of Grammy's, and then the costume contest downtown. Dylan won Most Creative for ages 0-3!!! Then it was off to Grammy's for trick-or-treating, where the costumes came off and full melt-downs and denials of Halloween being over ensued. Despite the fact that when we were actually trick-or-treating, Dylan had no interest.
